Lake Crabtree County Park, Wake County, NC

The path around Lake Crabtree is about 7.5 miles long.  The north side of the lake is heavily wooded right up to the water, while the other side has a large marshy inlet.  The park is located on the north side of the lake.  For directions, use this live map.

Ruby-crowned Kinglet, which appeared in the bushes just a few inches away and came up to take a brief, curious look. Lake Crabtree and the surrounding areas

The highway north of the lake is I-40.  The road crossing I-40, and farther south the lake, is Aviation Parkway.  The road leading to the main parking lot starts at 1400 Aviation Parkway and weaves eastward from Aviation Parkway just north of the lake.
